Two beach towns, one page
Treasure Island and Madeira Beach sit next to each other on barrier islands along the Gulf, and people move between them all day, so we cover both on one page. Treasure Island has John’s Pass cut through its north end by the Great Gale of 1848, and it has boating access to Boca Ciega Bay. Madeira Beach is between the Gulf and Boca Ciega Bay, bordering St. Petersburg to the east, and its motto is “Two Miles Long and a Smile Wide.” John’s Pass and its boardwalk are featured attractions in Madeira Beach.
Boaters, anglers and beach workers
If you spend time on a boat, you know the load: a sore low back from standing against the swell, tight shoulders from hauling lines, hands and forearms gripping a rod. The islands also employ plenty of people who stand on their feet in shops, restaurants and hotels around the boardwalk. When those workers call, they usually want the legs, hips and lower back loosened up before the next shift.
Sports massage suits beach volleyball, paddleboarding and swim training, and it covers the recovery side for anyone who is active on the sand. Deep tissue massage works for the knots that build from standing, carrying and boat time.
Condos, hotels and rentals
Treasure Island saw a surge of residential and hotel construction after World War II, and many Madeira Beach condos and hotels were built in the 1970s and 1980s. Both islands have plenty of seasonal and rental use, so a large share of our bookings here come from visitors. If you are in a rental, check the house rules and ask the owner or property manager whether outside therapists are allowed. In a condo, ask the front desk about elevators and where visitors can park. Where a hotel allows outside therapists, we come to your room.
Because many rentals are furnished with limited floor space, a clean, open corner of the living room or primary bedroom is often the right spot. We need an area about the size of the table with room to walk around it.
How we cross over
The Tom Stuart Causeway, State Road 666, connects Madeira Beach to the mainland community of Bay Pines. From St. Petersburg we reach the islands over the causeway, so give us the address, the unit number and the parking instructions in advance. Weekends and holidays bring more cars, so a little flexibility on arrival time helps.
Thai and Swedish for beach weeks
After a few days of sun, sand and walking, Thai massage can loosen stiff hips and legs through rhythmic pressure and assisted stretching. If you prefer something lighter, Swedish massage gives a full-body session at a gentler pace, which many first-time clients like. Both work well in the evening after a day outside.
If you are sunburned, let us know when you book so we can adjust. Check with your doctor or physical therapist before any session if you have an injury or a medical concern.
Plan it
Compare all of our sessions on the services page, then book a time and tell us if you are on Treasure Island or Madeira Beach. For the barrier island to the south, see our St. Pete Beach page.
